The Meg Sird

INTRODUCTION

This fellowship is designed to advance knowledge in adult and pediatric cardiovascular care in Armenia. It is sponsored and administered by the Meg Sird, Not for Profit (NFP) and provides  financial support for physicians working in cardiovascular specialties in Armenia to spend time in US medical centers, alongside US licensed physicians who work in the same discipline, with the goal of returning to Armenia with enhanced knowledge and expertise in their field of practice.

EXPECTATIONS

Expectations of each participant include:

•   Each participant will be expected to have regular structured meetings with his/her mentor at the hosting medical center to review goals and expectations throughout the fellowship; the mentor will have regular communication with the Meg Sird Board Members.

•   Each participant will be expected to provide a 60 minute educational lecture to their colleagues in Armenia upon completing the fellowship to highlight and share newly acquired knowledge. This will be reviewed and approved by the Meg Sird Board Members.

STIPEND AND VISA

The fellowship stipend will be allotted on an interval basis, and is subject to termination by Meg Sird NFP Board Members if the fellow is not fulfilling requirements in a timely and effective manner.
